PADIMA Project press conference

On Thursday 17th  June 2010 at 2.30 p.m., the headquarters of the Val Brembana Comunità Montana - road Don Angelo Tondini, 16 – 24014 Piazza Brembana – will host a press conference for the European project of interregional co-operation under INTERREG IVC, PADIMA: "Sharing common policies and strategies to combat depopulation in mountain areas".

The area of the Val Brembana Comunità Montana was chosen by IREALP-Italian partner of the project together with the province of Turin – in order to learn about good practices to encourage the maintenance and growth of the population in mountain areas.

At the press meeting, in addition to the entire 2008 Mazzoleni committee, the President of IREALP, Fabrizio Ferrari will also take part.

The main purpose of PADIMA (Policies Against Depopulation in Mountain Areas) is to improve the design and implementation of regional anti-depopulation policies with the long-term objective of increasing the population in mountain areas and promoting sustainable development.

The interregional co-operation project is co-ordinated by Euromontana PADIMA and has as its leading partner the Spanish Diputation de Teruel, as well as UCCIMAC (France), Dalarna Regional Development Council (Sweden), Buskerud County Council and Hedmark County Council (Norway), IREALP and the Province of Turin (Italy).
