A mountain full of energy

On Friday 29th January 2010, at the IREALP offices in Chiuro, the first lesson was held of the II level University Master in “ Planning for Sustainable Development in Mountain Areas and Politics for Mountains of the European Union” organised by the Milan Polytechnic with the support of IREALP and the ADEU- Advocacy Europe Foundation of Brussels.
The initiative also boasts the support of the Region of Lombardy.
Sixteen participants of the Master have been called upon to become new professional figures in the field of planning for sustainable development in mountain areas with deeper knowledge of European politics with regards the mountains, in a course that not only make good use of experts and academics, but will also see contributions from professionals, public administrators, functionaries , MEPs and operators who are all directly involved, from different points of view, in the management of sustainable development in the mountain territory.
For the first session, the lecture was held by Prof. Giancarlo Vecchi from the Milan Polytechnic, in charge of the master, and Politecnico di Milano, and Francesco Puma of the Authority for the basin of the River Po (ADBPo).
The lessons will continue in Chiuro until March followed by a series of encounters in Brussels held in English, where the module on European planning will take place.
The Master will then return to Chiuro in April.
