GPS LOMBARDY

The activity of Gps Lombardy, a sector of IREALP, is centered around the Gps positioning service on the regional territory. In particular, this activity is characterized by the management and maintenance of Gps stations, the provision of the service itself and management tasks.

The network has been active since July 2005, when the supply of this service started. It is efficient and very much appreciated by the customers. Data are accessible by logging into the www.gpslombardia.it/ Internet site, both from a PC and a mobile phone equipped with Gprs connection.

The service avails itself of the scientific support of Milan Polytechnic.
Gps Lombardy was promoted through a dedicated Internet site and a series of initiatives, among which the following ones:

• a supplement enclosed with "Sole 24 ore" (Italian national daily business newspaper);
• a Gps course;
• a series of Conferences held at a regional level
